Equipment
This is a selected list of our equipment and instruments for our research activities.
Attune flow cytometer:
This Invitrogen Attune NxT Flow Cytometer is one of our main instruments to characterize differentiation and activation of immune cells. This machine is equipped with 2 lasers (488 and 647 nm) and 7 color channels for detection.
We are providing training and user time for a fixed rate of user fee. If you want to get trained and use this machine, please contact Dr. Roh. Authorized users can check the availability by the shared Google calendar.
EVOS FL Auto with on-stage incubator:
This is our fluorescent microscope system with which we mainly examine cells, microparticles, as well as cells-biomaterials interactions. DAPI, FITC, Texas-Red, and bright field can be visualized in separate channels.
Lyophilizer:
We use this FreeZone Freeze Dry System from Labconco for preparation of our molecular therapeutics.
HAAKE Mars 60 Rheometer:Using this sophisticated rheometer, we measure and analyze the viscoelastic properties of a wide range of polymer solutions and hydrogels for development of biomimetic hydrogels or for electrohydrodynamic jetting.
QuantStudio 3 RT-PCR machine:
Using RT-PCR machine, we characterize transcriptional gene expression levels of our engineered biosystems. We also test efficacy of our novel molecular therapeutics based on targeted and controlled delivery of nucleic acids.
NanoDrop OneC Microvolume UV-Vis Spectrophotometer: We use this instrument to quantify and qualify DNA, RNA, and protein samples in seconds with only 1-2 µL sample volumes. It is equipped with an additional cuvette position, which is useful for monitoring ODs of bacterial growth.
BUCHI Rotary Evaporator:
We typically use this equipment for gentle removal of solvents from samples during our synthesis of monomers, macromers, and polymers.
GE ÄKTA Prime Plus FPLC:
We use this lab-scale chromatography system for the final purification of our recombinant proteins.
